Monitor stands and mounts

Choose a desk or wall monitor mount to organise your workspace around the space available. Compare arms for one or two screens, fixing systems and height, swivel and tilt adjustments. Before buying, check the VESA pattern, the monitor’s weight without its stand and the sizes supported by the mount: compatibility depends on more than screen size alone.

Reviews from our users

Before choosing a monitor mount, check the VESA pattern, the screen’s weight without its stand and the fixing method. Decide whether you need to move one screen or adjust two monitors at the same workstation.

Monitor stands and mounts for your workspace

A mount lets you position a screen to suit your workstation and can free up desk space when it replaces the original stand. At Ecoportatil you can compare desk and wall options for a single screen or a setup with two monitors. Think about everyday desk use: reading documents beside the keyboard, sharing your screen during a meeting or changing position between tasks. This helps you prioritise adjustments you will actually use when comparing different mounts.

First decide where the screen will go and which movements you need, then compare these requirements with the mount’s specifications.

Desk stand, adjustable arm or wall mount

Desk mounts may use a clamp, a grommet fixing or a freestanding base, depending on the model. Check the desktop material and thickness, clearance around its edge and whether installation requires a hole. Measure the installation area before choosing. A desk against a wall, a cable tray or a reinforced edge may restrict where the fixing fits and how far the arm can fold back behind the screen.

An adjustable arm lets you move the screen within its range; a fixed mount offers fewer adjustments. For wall mounting, check the wall material and use fixings suitable for that surface.

VESA compatibility, weight and screen size

The VESA pattern describes the spacing between the screen’s mounting holes. It must match a pattern supported by the mount, and the monitor must stay within its weight limit.

Check the screen’s weight without its base and the manufacturer’s size specifications. Gas spring arms may also have a minimum load. Recessed mounting points, connectors or the shape of the monitor’s rear may require spacers or specific accessories. If you already own the monitor, find its exact model reference and check the mounting specifications. Keep the original stand’s parts in case you later need to use it again or move the screen to another workstation.

Choosing a mount for two monitors

Check the weight limit of each arm and the width of both screens, especially if they will sit side by side. Allow room behind the desk for the arms to move without hitting the wall. You can use matching screens or combine different sizes, within the mount’s limits. Decide whether one will be your main display and the other will sit to the side for email, documents or supporting applications.

Height adjustment and portrait rotation must be listed in the model’s specifications. Cables also need enough slack to follow the movement without pulling on connectors.

Complete your setup with a compatible screen

If you are also replacing the screen, compare the available monitors, including their connections, dimensions and VESA mounting. Compare the cost of the complete installation: mount, screws, any adapters and cables. Identifying these items in advance makes it easier to set up the desk without discovering that an essential part for your screen is missing.

Before installation, check which screws and accessories are included and follow the instructions for each item. An accessory designed to secure a Mini PC serves a different purpose: make sure the mount you choose is intended to hold a screen. To complete a fixed workstation, also compare refurbished Mini PCs and office computers, considering how they fit with your monitor and peripherals.
