Process

How the process works

01

Request

You fill in the form with details about your equipment fleet and we contact you within 24 hours to organise the service.

02

Pickup

We come to your premises with our own vehicle and perform a complete inventory of the assets at the moment of pickup.

03

Certified erasure

We process the equipment at our facilities in Málaga applying the NIST 800-88 standard (Clear and Purge levels depending on the device type).

04

Certificate and recycling

We send you the erasure certificate for each device and manage the second life of reusable devices or their recycling in compliance with WEEE regulations.

NIST 800-88 standard

Certified and secure data erasure (NIST 800-88 standard)

We apply the two erasure levels of the NIST SP 800-88 standard depending on the device type, intended use and your organisation's security requirements.

Clear

Software erasure

We use advanced overwriting methods that erase all accessible data from the disk, writing patterns of zeros or random data on every sector. The hidden areas of the disk (HPA and DCO) are also included, ensuring no residual information remains.

  • Compliant with the NIST SP 800-88 standard at Clear level
  • Ideal for safe equipment reuse
  • Full protection against conventional access
Purge

Firmware erasure

For a higher level of security, we use methods integrated directly into the hard drive itself, using manufacturer commands compliant with ANSI ATA. This process erases absolutely all information on the device, including hidden sectors (HPA and DCO), reassigned sectors (invisible to the operating system) and security locks (freeze lock). The result is a complete erasure at the internal hardware level, impossible to recover even with advanced forensic techniques.

  • Compliant with the NIST SP 800-88 standard at Purge level
  • Security level used in business and corporate environments
  • Maximum confidentiality guarantee

Complementary services

Certified physical destruction

When the device cannot be reused, we proceed to physically shred the storage medium and issue a destruction certificate to attest the secure elimination of the data.

Equipment buy-back

We assess your equipment fleet and submit an economic buy-back offer. It is the ideal option to reduce the net cost of the ITAD service when the devices are suitable for reuse.

WEEE recycling

We manage waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The whole chain is documented and traceable so that your company can prove legal compliance under any audit.

Risks

Why doing it right matters

GDPR legal risk

The General Data Protection Regulation sets fines up to 20 million euros or 4% of the global annual turnover for data leaks on retired IT assets without proper erasure. The data controller's liability does not vanish when the equipment leaves the premises.

Reputational risk

A poorly erased hard drive that reaches the second-hand market may expose customer data, employee data or confidential contracts. This kind of incident is easy to track and usually becomes public news, with direct consequences on customer and investor trust.

Electronic waste

The European WEEE regulation requires full traceability in the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Unauthorised recycling or delivery to managers without accreditation is a serious infringement that can lead to administrative penalties and criminal liability.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What certificate do you issue and what is it for?

We issue an erasure certificate for each processed device, including the equipment serial number, the applied method (Clear or Purge under the NIST SP 800-88 standard) and the execution date. This document allows you to prove to clients, auditors or the supervisory authority that the data has been definitively eliminated in compliance with regulations.

What is the minimum number of devices for you to come and pick up?

There is no fixed minimum number of units. The minimum profitable volume to organise a pickup depends on the location and logistics in each case. Tell us about your situation through the form and our team will advise you with no commitment.

Which geographical areas do you operate in?

We provide pickup service across Europe. For pickups outside Andalusia or in international destinations, we coordinate the logistics in advance. Contact us to confirm availability and timelines for your specific location.

How long does the process take from pickup to certificate?

The usual timeline from pickup to certificate delivery varies depending on the volume of equipment and the erasure method applied. For standard batches, the process is usually completed in a few business days. For larger projects, we agree on an execution schedule before starting.

How much does the service cost?

The price depends on the volume, the type of devices, the required erasure method and the pickup location. In many cases the cost can be reduced or offset by buying back equipment with residual value. Request a quote through the form and we will send you a personalised proposal with no commitment.

What happens if the disks are encrypted?

Disk encryption does not exempt you from the erasure obligation under the GDPR, since the key could be recovered in the future. We apply the erasure method that fits the device type regardless of whether the disk is encrypted or not, ensuring in any case the definitive elimination of the data and the issuance of the corresponding certificate.

Does your process comply with the GDPR?

Yes. Erasure under the NIST SP 800-88 standard is widely accepted as a valid method for the definitive removal of personal data in accordance with article 17 of the GDPR. The erasure certificate we issue constitutes the documentary evidence proving compliance with this obligation before the competent supervisory authority.
